Nerve compression : Try a formal course of physical therapy. You should also see a pain management specialist. An epidural steroid injection may help. If ultimately all fails and you can no longer tolerate your symptoms, surgery may be warranted.

Neurontin (gabapentin) or steroid: The next options would be nerve stabilizer like neurontin, (gabapentin) epidural steroid injections or surgery. I would recommend seeing an interventional pain doctor and spine surgeon.
