Based on Problem.: This needs to be determined by a full examination by your dentist. He/she will make treatment suggestions based on the entire problem, and what is in your best interest in the treatment. There are a few different causes of the infection, tooth or gum tissue, or even both. Be sure to have your dentist fully explain to you the causes of the problems, and the solutions available to you.

Many options: If your tooth is infected, the question is can you save it, if the tooth is restorable, you will need a root canal and a new bridge, if the tooth is no good you may replace it with an implant (s), or a partial denture. Actually if you want you just can get the tooth/bridge out and leave the space empty ( no replacement). Hope this helps.

Treat the infection: This depends on your specific situation. Your dentist should be able to offer options. If the supporting teeth are infected, but structurally sound, root canal treatment may be an option. If the tooth structure is compromised, implant treatment may be an option. Best of luck.

Depends: It's hard to give you a precise answer without seeing your x-rays and doing an exam. However, the first course of action should be to treat the infection. It may mean having to do a root canal treatment, prescribing antibiotics, or even extracting the tooth if it's not restorable. Your dentist who is familiar with your case should be able to give you your options.
