Probably temporary: Most likely your tongue got caught between your teeth when the breathing tube was inserted during anesthesia. That can cause a temporary numbness and tingling in the tongue and should go away.

Tongue numbness: That is most likely from the anesthesia breathing tube during the surgery, and not the surgery itself- it should pass. However you can sometimes get numbness/tingling occurring around the mouth as a result of low calcium levels after thyroid surgery- this is more common after a total thyroidectomy than a partial. Contact the surgeon to let them know your symptoms.
