A member asked:

After a night of drinking, i wake up and blow my nose and i always blow a few blood clots out? why is that and why would i have formed blood clots?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alcohol + environmen: Alcohol causes the blood vessels of the nose to swell and often times when drinking your environment may have fairly low humidity. Dry air plus swollen blood vessels in the nose can lead to irritation and inflammation and can lead to bleeding. There is a product called ponaris oil which is like chapstick for the nose that you can put in your nose before you go out to prevent this.
