Good question: I have different opinion about this than many mds. While approved for up to 8mg for seizures, when approved for panic the optimal dose was only 1mg per day. Paradoxically, higher doses didn't work as well. Many docs will give you higher doses but i think it is best to use alternate meds if you need more than 1.5mg per day. Eg add ssri or mood stablizer.
