A member asked:

Is it possible that shingles can start on your finger? my son has blisters on his pointing finger. he has had shingles before. he's 24 years old.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Shingles can appear unilaterally anywhere. It is less likely to have when younger unless immunity is compromised. Related to chicken pox infection earlier in life. Due to multiple episodes and age, i think an md (perhaps an immunologist) exam is worth pursuing.
