Cool water: Cool water or holding an unopened popsicle may help with pain relief, as will ibuprofen. Do not pop the blisters. As long as they are intact, you don't worry so much about infection. Once the blisters rupture on their own, trim away the dead skin (nail scissors are good for this) and keep the wound clean. It sounds like a second degree burn which should not leave scars on the fingertips.

Burns: For minor burns, including first-degree burns and second-degree burns limited to an area no larger than 3 inches (7.6 centimeters) in diameter, take the following action: cool the burn, cover with a sterile gauze bandage, take over the counter pain relievers. Do not use ice. Do not break the blisters. If pain increases, infection occurs take your son to the doctor.

Blisters: Don't open. Keep them clean and covered if possible. When they start leaking, put triple antibiotic on them and keep them covered. If the blisters are big, take him to doc. He will pop them and remove the dead skin and do what i told you to.
