A member asked:

Why isnt my antibiotic curing my ear infection? my ear is draining a foul smelling light yellow discharge.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be wrong med: Any antibiotic used to treat an ear infection is picked based on speculation (percentages) that it will work. Any and all antibiotics have a possible of 5% or higher failure rate. The germ may just not be killed by the abx or something may interfere with its absorption from the gut. Either way, a different abx may do a better job.
