Referred vs seperate: Pain in hip/leg can stem from herniated discs depending on where in the hip/leg the pain is, and what level disc is herniated. However it may be an entirely seperate pain source/entity leading to your new symptoms. See a specialist who can find the source ( pain physician, physiatrist, spine surgeon, or orthopedic surgeon).
