Unlikely: While you may feel crazy while going through dts, this is not a permanent condition.

Not directly from DT: Heavy alcohol use over a long period of time can lead to severe vitamin b1 (thiamine) deficiency, which can cause delirium (wernicke's encephalopathy). One possible complication of this is korsakoff's syndrome, characterized in part by permanent and severe short-term memory loss. These are not related to dts, but from long-term alcohol abuse that can cause dts to occur when suddenly stopping alcohol.
