A member asked:

If you have ocd and are 14, would that cause you to act up in school? i have ocd.

Not necessarily: It would be best to get a comprehensive evaluation by a child and adolescent psychiatrist. There are many reasons kids can "act out" in school whether or not they have ocd.

OCD Goes to School: It's not uncommon 4 kids/teens w/ocd 2 b perceived as acting up in school, not following rules, not listening/respecting a teacher, etc. This article "what does ocd look like at school" might help answer ur question: http://bit.Ly/13wpryl it's important 4 ur teachers, at least, 2 understand when a behavior they see is tied 2 an obsession (o) or compulsion (c). U may not recognize this urself!
