A proximal row: Carpectomy is sometimes suggested depending upon the pattern and degree of arthritic changes in the wrist. Speak to your doctor regarding the risks, benefits and indications for this and the other plans you have described. The issue with a sl ligament injury is that the scaphoid abnormally wears at the radius and the capitate may become affected as the wrist "collapses" with variation existing.
