Usually surgery: This is usually a surgically treated problem with multiple options of care depending on the extent of injury, time frame of diagnosis to date of injury, and symptomatology. Surgical options range from soft tissue reconstruction to partial fusion or per-cutaneous pinning. Diagnostic studies include mri, arthrogram and arthroscopy. You need to follow through with the hand surgeon.

Multiple procedures: There are multiple procedures to treat sl injury. It matters if the injury happen recently or a long time ago. If it happened recently then a repair can possibly be done, if it happened a long time ago then a reconstruction of the ligament may be needed. There are many procedures described, discuss with your surgeon options.
