Abdominoplasty: This is any procedure on the abdominal wall that will produce an aesthetic improvement or reconstruction. However it most commonly refers to a combination of procedures that remove and tighten loose skin, reapproximate separated muscles and suction dome limited deposits of fat.

The procedure requires an incision and closure with sutures. With this procedure patients typically end up with a flatter stomach and less loose skin and fat.

Abdominoplasty: The rectus abdominis muscle is the vertical muscle in the middle of your abdomen. If your rectus abdominis muscles are separated, a repair of the muscle tightens that gap by stitching it together. It functions much the same as how shoe laces work in a shoe.
