Imaging Exam: Mri or magnetic resonance imaging is one of the more recently developed imaging modalities available to physicians. It uses powerful magnets to generate images. There is no ionizing radiation which is a major advantage over many other modalities. Mri is the best imaging exam that we have for most soft tissue and joint related problems. There are radiologists specifically trained in mri.

MRI means: Magnetic resonance imaging named for the effects of the strong magnetic field upon the atomic and molecular phase or spin and the image created when that magnetic field is altered and the excited particle changes gibing off a signal that is recorded and interpreted by a complex computer algorithm, resulting in an image.

MRI: Magnetic resonance imaging, utilizes magnetic fields and radio frequency pulses "tuned" to specific molecules in order excite/relax those molecules, which results in an emission of a signal detected by the machine, and produces an image through an exceedingly complex computer algorithm.
