Rhinoplasty : Rhinoplasty is unable to directly affect your voice production in your larynx. However, if you have nasal obstruction after surgery you could sound hypernasal. Additionally, if you underwent general anesthesia with an intubation (breathing tube placed) you could also have vocal cord injury from this as well. Be healthy and be well, james m. Ridgway, md.

This : This is not likely or a common occurence. Excessive airflow through the nose would favor hypernasality, whereas nasal obstruction favors hyponasality. I wouldn't let these extreme and unlikely occurrences disuade you from pursuing rhinoplasty if you have your heart set on it.

It : It would be unusual for your voice itself to change after rhinoplasty. The nasality of your voice may change if significant pre-existing obstruction is treated, though.

Rhino voice change: Rhinoplasty can change the voice in a subtle way. It usualy is not an issue unless you have a bad nasal obstruction that was causing the voice to be nasal. In that case a septoplasty is done as well and then the voice becomes more normal. Overall voice changes are not significant unless you are a professional singer.

Rarely: Usually the only change would be a less nasal quality if internal septal or turbinate work is done.
