My sons neck is swollen bad below his right ear what should i do? i took him to the hospital and they said he has a viral infection but now his neck is like this, i need a second opinion. its swollen and in one spot its really red

Hard : Hard to tell with limited history and inability to examine him, however, if he has been on oral antibiotics, and the swelling and redness are increasing after 24-48 hours of treatment, particularly if associated with increasing pain, he very well may need IV antibiotics. He should be re-evaluated by his physician for any progression of symptoms. He may be developing a cellulitis.
