A member asked:

Is there an std you can get on the tongue that is a red circle, is it gonorrhea?

A tongue lesion...: ...Can be syphilis or herpes, not gonorrhea (that usually causes a severe throat infection). There is also a harmless, common condition unrelated to sex, called "geographic tongue" which your doctor can easily diagnose.

Yes, possible but: More likely a 'red circle' on the tongue us a variant of normal anatomy or benign inflammatory condition called glossitis. It happens in response to trauma, viral or bacterial infection, or irritation (some spices). Either way, you should seek a consult to be sure. Until then, treat it as an std and be responsible to your sexual partners.
