Will i see the final results of juvederm as soon as the swelling goes away? i understand i'll see some results right away, but does juvederm need any extra time to settle in to its final position or shape?

You : You can appreciate what your final result is within a couple days after treatment unless you experience unusual swelling. Dr edwards.

There : There is usually a few days of swelling right after juvederm injection that needs to resolve before you see your final result. Additonally, juvederm is hydrophilic ("loves water") so it will draw in some water from the surrounding tissue after it's injected.

The : The short answer is: yes. If you have any bruising from the injection this will also contribute to delayed swelling, all of which should be gone in one weeks time period. Icing helps in the immediate and first 24-36 hours as well. Be healthy and be well, james m. Ridgway, md.
