Needle exam: The EMG test includes two parts nerve conductions and electromyography. A small electric current is used to test the nerve conduction. The electromyography involves putting a small needle in a sample of the muscles that may be affected to determine if their function is normal. Most people dislike the needle exam as multiple needle punctures are needed.
