When to start flossing a child's teeth? our daughter has six teeth in her mouth, none of them touching each other. our dentist said we should start flossing now, but it seems pointless to me. should we start now, or wait until there are some touching teet

If : If your child 's teeth do not touch each other and there are spaces, there is nothing to floss. Good rushing will do. Make sure that you brush your child's teeth as well as her herself.

Flossing : Flossing is meant to remove food and bacteria acumulated between teeth or interproximal areas. If teeth are not touching, brushing will always be the the most effective way to clean her teeth. Good luck to you and your daughter!

Keep checking: If there are spaces between teeth good brushing should suffice. The moment two teeth actually touch each other is the exact moment to start flossing, because you can't clean between teeth w a toothbrush. Have your child sit on your lap, facing away from you, and tilt their head back. Easiest way for you to reach and see.
