Sounds : Sounds like it probably will not amount to anything. Small chips often will occur like this when edge to edge trauma occurs. Since it is asymptomatic and the appearance doesn't bother you, see how things go over the next week or so. If the tooth begins to ache or turns dark, it could be a sign that the nerve in the tooth was damaged and at that point it should be looked at and treated. Even if you went to your dentist today, there is no immediate treatment necessary to prevent future problems.

So : So many people chip their teeth in some way and most of the time nothing needs to done about it. If the tooth is not sore, is not changing color and is not loose, and if as you say the chip is not noticeable, I should just be grateful that it wasn't worse. I would suggest going carefully on that tooth, and having your dentist take a look at it at your next cleaning. A chipped tooth can be predisposed to catching the edge of hard food which might contribute to a significant fracture. I suggest smoothing the chipped area. It : It is nor likely that much more can happen to this chipped area, unless ther is some other weakened tooth material still attached. Most likely it will smooth itself out. If you're not troubled by this, either with pain or the way it looks i think you are fine to wait until your next dental appointment. If yu are concerned, then have your dentist take a look at it.
