A member asked:

To fix just one discolored/ chipped front tooth do you recommend a veneer or composite bonding? i'm afraid bonding is too brittle and will need fixin

Not So: If you are doing a composite veneer (aka bonding), it should be fine. Composite is a fairly strong material & if done right, it should last about 8-10 years. The major difference is composite will stain & ceramic veneer will not. Think of it as plastic vs glass.

DDS Consultation: There are many factors and options that should be considered when choosing how to repair your discolored/ chipped front tooth. Your dentist should evaluate your individual situation and help you decide which option will meet your needs.

Speak with DDS: Need to physically see to comment. Have dentist evaluate and discuss pros and cons to treatment. Many times composite bonding will not hold up long term based on the amount of tooth structure needed to replace and the bite.
