Without : Without examining you and possibly getting an x-ray, it's difficult to tell what is going on. However, any cough that worsens, is associated with fever or lasts more than 2-3 weeks should be evaluated by a doctor. Most coughs associated with an upper respiratory infection go away within 1-2 weeks. There are many problems that could be going on - common things being walking pneumonia, bronchitis, allergies or gastroesophageal reflux but less common and more serious causes could be pneumonia, tuberculosis or congestive heart failure. Evaluating your other pertinent symptoms and listening to your lungs can help deliniate the cause of your cough and hopefully get you the treatment you need to feel better. Give your doctor a call. Cough: Could have post-viral reactive airway disorder. Probably indicated to take course of zithromax or Augmentin in possibility that you have some mycoplasma overlay
