Granddaughter has pneumonia caused from flu. doctor gave bactrim. wondering if that will work?

Hard to say: The flu virus itself can trigger a pneumonia that could put a 4 yo into an ICU with need for advanced care to avoid loss of life. Bactrim by itself would do nothing for a flu caused pneumonia. If there is some other issue it may help. Tamiflu and close monitoring is warranted with a re-evaluation quickly if the kid deteriorates.
