NSAID: Not all anti inflammatory medicines are the same. Celebrex (celecoxib) (a cox-2 nsaid) has less GI side effects than Motrin and other nsaids. Naprelan is also an NSAID with less GI side effects. There are also NSAID patches (flector) and ointment preparations (voltaren gel) that i prescribe for patients with high blood pressure and/or GI ulcers/bleeds in which oral NSAID could be harmful.
