Which type of anti inflammatory drugs would be the most effective for treating my arthritis back pain? i've been diagnosed with arthritis, and i'm in constant pain along my spine. are the newer anti inflammatory drugs a safe choice to relieve my symptoms,

NSAID: Not all anti inflammatory medicines are the same. Celebrex (celecoxib) (a cox-2 nsaid) has less GI side effects than Motrin and other nsaids. Naprelan is also an NSAID with less GI side effects. There are also NSAID patches (flector) and ointment preparations (voltaren gel) that i prescribe for patients with high blood pressure and/or GI ulcers/bleeds in which oral NSAID could be harmful.
