New diagnosis of lower spine arthritis. i am 62 .any treatment available beyond palliatives and pain relief? can it be cured?

Pain in the back: I have degenerative disk disease myself. I find that the over the counter preparation called: osteo-bi-flex really helps, but it takes a month or two to kick in. It contains glucosamine, chondroitin and something called msm. Be sure and discuss with your physician and good luck to you.
