Pain!: Depends on whether it is inflammatory or degenerative. Spine inflammation usually has a pain increase with being in one position for some time. Degenerative arthritis usually hurts more with acitvitity. Both types usually originate low, but inflammatory arthritis of the spine will usually cause sacroiliac joint inflammation and pain. This pain is usually felt in the "buttocks" or the top pelvis.
