Yes: There will be some degree of pain after any surgery. The more extensive/involved the surgery, the more pain you will have. The pain typically improves after the first 1-3 days.

No: Not particularly. Adding slim lipo decreases pain, swelling and bruising plus tightens the skin. Google slim lipo for additional info.

No: Typically patients have a superficial tenderness to touch and "stiffness" (like after a heavy workout if you are not in good condition, the next morning). With activities and movement-- exercise early, this resolves fairly quickly. Some patients do not take any narcotic pain medications following such surgery. There are a variety of techniques which are minimally uncomfortable.

Liposuction pain: There is often soreness when touching the area after liposuction and even with moving or bending over. Compression garments often provide some relief to the soreness with the gentle pressure it applies to the area. Some patients go back to the gym within several days but the surgeon needs to clear this per patient depending on the surgery done. It is rare that the pain is very bad.

Not bad: There is some tenderness and bruising. It's best to take it easy for a week or two, avoid heaving lifting and bending over. Some patients feel fine to exercise and go back to normal activity within a few days and others take a little longer. It's usually a very well-tolerated procedure. Helps to wear a compression garment.

Mild to moderate: Most patients have minimal pain, while others are stiff and sore for a week or two. I encourage early return to activity to minimize the stiffness and speed recovery.

Usually minimal: When properly done liposuction does not usually cause much discomfort- typically some soreness similar to after having a vigorous workout at the gym. You should be able to resume most normal activities within a few days. Be wary of claims for brand-name lipo technologies that promise faster recovery, it's usually just marketing hype.

Liposuction pain: Pain is relative and depends on a patients perspective. In general, it is not viewed as a "painful" procedure. You can learn more about this procedure by looking at this reference - http://www.drkulick.com/body-procedures-san-francisco/ultrasonic-liposuction/
