Of course.: It is always okay to consider something. The question is really is it the right thing to do? Answering that requires a physical exam and a discussion about your expectations. Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure nor can it work miracles. It is best used for sculpting and fine-tuning, it's not a tool for major weight loss. See a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss options.

Possibly.: You may or may not be a good candidate for liposuction surgery. Best to be evaluated in person by board-certified plastic surgeons to discuss your concerns and goals. Frankly, your statement of “can't stand to look at myself” sounds somewhat extreme; make sure counseling, not surgery would not be a better place to start? Best wishes.

Consultation is key.: It is crucial to the patient's success that a thorough consultation be done prior to any surgical procedure. The patient's goals, desires and motivations must be ascertained. Occasionally a consultation with a psychologist is helpful in the patient's happiness with the procedure.
