Missing the forest: Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, i think you are misled by the goals of the procedure which are intended to control localized and diet resistant deposits and not systemic weight. The concerns with being overweight are ore than cosmetic and relate to heart health, arthritis, diabetes, and more. Being overweight may effect your health and it is preferred you be close to your ideal body wt.

Not the best...: Liposuction is not a weight control operation. It's for contouring a stubborn bulge that won't go away after you've tried everything else. While you could theoretically have multiple session of liposuction - each time you go back in the same area, there's more scar tissue, and it's a more difficult operation. I'd recommend working on lifestyle issues first: old-fashioned diet & exercise

Not Indicated.: Liposuction surgery is not indicated for the purposes you describe. On the other hand, it is indicated for patients who present with isolated areas of diet and exercise resistant adipose tissue with adequate overlying skin elasticity. Best to use traditional methods of diet and exercise, possibly with the help of professionals such as trainers and/or nutritionist, to reach weight/health goals.

Not really: Liposuction is not a weight loss tool. Liposuction is used for body contouring and removal of stubborn fat deposits that are unresponsive to diet and exercise. Remember that fat weights very little compared to muscle. http://www.dassmd.com/liposuction/index.html.
