Bleacher: The pigmentation after liposuction can be either from break down product of hemoglobin or from post inflamtory skin hyperpigmentation. For the 1st reason, only time can help to absorb the pigmentation. For the second reason you can use a bleacher like hydroquinone 4% that you apply on the pigmentation twice a day. Your surgeon can tell which one is the right approach. Best of luck, .

Not a bruise: If its there 8 months later it isn't a bruise, it's a scar. Get a second opinion.

Lasers: There are lasers that can help to improve upon the discolorations such as ktp, nd:yag, pulsed dye, and ipl. These lasers target the blood vessels and pigment making the discolorations less apparent.

Probably not bruise: At this point, it's either a hemosiderin deposit or a patch of hyperpigmentation. Check with your surgeon to see if you are a candidate for either treatment with hydroquinone, or perhaps an intense pulse light (ipl) treatment.
