Yes: While liposuction can be done in just about everywhere in the body. It is recommended to be used only in targeted areas (ie: abdomen, hips, thighs, arms). It is not recommended to be used in overly obese individuals.

Possibly: Better to utilize quality diet and exercise to identify the areas that do not effectively respond. Liposuction does well for the difficult deposits that you are unable to get to respond. Unlikely all areas would be candidates for liporeduction.

Sort of: Liposuction should never be considered as a weight loss procedure. Only a few pounds of fat are removed with liposuction. It is a body contouring procedure, to reduce those stubborn areas on your body that just won't go away, despite adequate weight loss, dieting and exercising.

Liposuction of body: It is possible to get liposuction on different parts of the body. If someone wants liposuction all over the body, they are not the ideal candidate as there should only be a bulge here or there that is not responsive to diet or exercise for you to be an ideal candidate. Safety is jeopardize with too much local anesthetic and so not all the fat can be removed from many sites at the same time.

Depends how much: Liposuction if more effective and safer for localized areas of fat. There's also a limit to how much fat can be safely removed per session. A new nonsurgical alternative to liposuction is the newly fda approved liposonix, the first noninvasive fat melting device. It's approved for abdomen and flanks but can treat other body part off-label. You can lose at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) of fat per treatment.

Yes: Liposuction can be performed anywhere there is excess fat- whether or not you should have it done everywhere should be decided after consultation with a plastic surgeon.

Not advised: If you are really looking at "neck to knees" lipo, it is more likely that you will achieve better resutls through weight loss.

No not really: Liposuction works well but it is important that the patient understands that it can only remove a relatively small amount of fat below the skin and is not a weight loss treatment. While many different areas can be treated, all over the body sculpting is best done by weight loss.

Not at the same time: While liposuction can be used in many different areas of the body, it's neither safe nor recommended to try to have "total body liposuction" in one operation. But conceivably, over a number of operations, it would be possible to do a little bit here, and a little bit there and gradually have liposuction done in multiple parts of your body.

Liposuction all over: There are certain body areas that are good targets for liposuction which include the neck, chest in males, upper arms, thighs, flanks, abdomen, back, and calves. Other areas either don't have fatty tissue accumulation (hands and feet) or would result in bad outcomes (buttock)

Yes, but...: Liposuction is ideal for small areas of fat deposits. You can use it for multiple areas (thighs, belly, arms, back, neck), but if you are thinking that you need lipo "all over" you will likely have better results with general weight loss +/- lipo. for more on SmartLipo see: http://www.omahacosmeticsurgery.com/contouring-procedures-category/smartlipo-triplex-technology/
