Epistaxis : Epistaxis or bloody noses can be caused by a variety of things and is worth having it looked into by and ear, nose and throat doctor (otolaryngologist). They can place a scope (small camera) into your child's nose and see why she is having the nose bleeds. They may even be able to stop them from happening which i'm sure would be a relief to both of you! in the meantime, here are a few nose bleed tips. If your child's nose starts to bleed, pinch the soft part of her nose below the bridge (not the bridge) to stop the bleeding. Now keep pinching for 5 minutes. Set a timer or look at a watch because it will feel like forever. And no peeking! that will stop 95% of all nosebleeds. Dry nose: She probably has a dry nasal lining and secretly picks her nose sometimes (or blows it hard). The vessels in the nose then get exposed and periodically -for no obvious reason- they can bleed. Use a nasal saline gel like ayr gel 2x a day for a month then nightly as needed. This is usually worse in winter (with heating) or summer (with ac) as everything is drier then.
