High : High myopia (near sighted) can cause problems. My patients with high myopia are monitored on a regular basis for retina problems and retina tears/breaks. Patients with high myopia require a dilated eye exam to make sure the retina remains healthy.

Myopia: Myopia does not itself cause any other eye disease. Some studies show a increased incidence of glaucoma in myopic patients but this could be a detection bias.
