Kidney: This lets doctors know that your kidneys are functioning at 37% of normal. If this has gone on for more then 3 months, its called chronic kidney disease stage 3. It is important to find out what is causing it (most common are diabetes and/or high blood pressure). Certain medications can make it worse (ibuprofen, aleve, (naproxen) nsaids). You should talk to your doctor and see a nephrologist (kidney doc).

Low kidney function: You need to see a nephrologist. Optimum kidney function is 100%. You will need to have the doctor examine you, order a 24 hour urine for creatinine clearance, to assess how much renal function you have now, as well as to see how much protein you have in that urine collection. Blood work and a renal ultrasound will need to be done to assess the cause, severity and the prognosis of your kidneys.
