Non-impact: The best kind of exercise is to do non-impact type things -- swimming, walking, biking.

Light weights: Weight training is beneficial for osteoporosis. Light weights, higher reps, focusing on the weight bearing joints especially is beneficial. Focus on the legs, as people tend to fracture the hips, and focus on the core to protect the spine.
