Maybe not: It sounds like your husband is being very proactive about his health- good for him! it is possible that with weight loss and exercise he may be able to lower his blood pressure and eliminate the need for medications. Exercise and a balanced diet with associated weight loss into the ideal body weight range is helpful in many medical conditions including diabetes, high cholesterol, and arthritis.

Depends: If he is overweight and obese, lowering weight will help with his blood pressure. We always try to eliminate or decrease meds when we can. His doctor will do this for him once his blood pressure is going down with weight loss. Whether or not he can completely eliminate all meds cannot be answered. Only time will tell.
