Assuming PAP Smear?: No reason to worry unless you went into the test with reasons for such. Stay calm, think positive and just see what becomes of it. If you have an abnormal pap, there are many treatments and not all is "doom". It think you are going to be surprised with a less than very serious outcome. Hope so! stay in touch with your pcp or gyn over this. Good luck!

Depends on risk : Normal pap depends on risk factors like: past abnormal results? Treated for abnormality? Infected with hpv viral strain causing cervical cancer? If infected, strength of immunity? Tobacco use? Mother took DES during pregnancy(used to prevent miscarriage)? At your age, automatic test for hpv type recommended if pap is abnormal. Cervical cancer grows slowly. Pap finds early change and precancers.
