Herpes: A positive IgG means that you have recently or in the past had a Herpes Simplex Virus infection. HSV is not curable as the virus can live hidden in nerve cells. HSV 1 causes oral sores/ HSV 2 causes genital sores. Both are very contagious. These sores can be treated with antivirals when they arise. Precautions should be taken during pregnancy and if the person becomes immunocompromised.

I took two tests not to far apart First test was hsv dna pcr results came back not detected for both types test was done 7/16/21 next was antibodies igg test done the 7/26/21 comes back positive for hsv2 I have no breakouts. Which test is right?
