You feel better!: There are 2 (minor) risks of neuroma surgery (besides the "usual" risks with any surgery): 1) the development of a stump neuroma, where a new neuroma forms at the end of the nerve that was cut, and 2) the development of an area of permanent numbness in or around a toe because a nerve was (deliberately) severed. Both of these risks are pretty low.

Relief of pain: Most patients will have relief of pain. You will have some numbness to the adjacent toes on the bottom of the foot. You should not have any loss of function of the toes. Discuss with your surgeon possible complications. Dr l.
