Mortons neuroma: Inflamed portion of nerve often caused by improper support and/or tight fitting shoes over time. Treatments include, more supportive shoes/orthotics, injections, paddings/strappings, physical therapy and surgery.

Neuroma: Morton's neuroma is a term used for the scar tissue formed around the nerve branch between the 3rd and 4th metatarsal with boney enlargement and or pronation scar tissue is placed around the nerve usually resulting in pain.

See below: It is inflammation of the nerve most usually affecting the 3rd ; 4th toe, but can affect the 2nd ; 3rd toe. It causes pain, burning and numbness of the toes.
