Plain water: Please don't put the vapor steam liquid in the water... It will keep the vaporizer operating longer if you put the liquid in the cup next to where the steam comes out, rather than in the water.

Plain: If it stinks/has any odor, it is actually irritating to babies airway and potentially harmful.Plain water produces a moistening steam that soothes the airway.
