Yes: Grapes can spike blood sugar especially if not followed by sufficient exercise. Red grape pomace, however, which is the left over grapes seeds and skins from wine making, given before a starchy meal inhibits the rise in blood sugar by inhibiting the enzyme Alpha glucosidase. It also is high in healthful anti-oxidants.
