Minimal to weeks: Depending on the extent of liposuction performed, some areas essentially have no recovery whereas more extensive treatment may require compression dressings and limited activity with prolonged soreness.

A few days: Liposuction can be done in a minimally traumatic way which limits the recovery time. The more areas which are treated, the more downtime that may result. Most patients do not have restrictions after surgery, in fact, it is encouraged to be somewhat active afterwards. Most patients find that they may be a bit sore but can do most things in a few days.

Minimal time: Most of my patients take a weekend off after having vaser liposuction or laser liposuction. This type of liposuction is more gentle than traditional liposuction and does not create as much bruising and swelling.

Relatively quickly: The recovery from liposuction will depend on the areas that were done. Most people will return to light activity and work within a couple of days. Four to six weeks before resuming normal exercise routines and rigorous activities. http://www.dassmd.com/liposuction/index.html.

Liposuction Recovery: Often the recovery after liposuction is about 1 week. Patients will be swollen and sore for weeks to months after the surgery. However, patients can be back to all normal activities including work (aside from working out) in about 1 week.
