Scab YES: Gristle NO: It is normal to have dried clots and scabs coming from the nsoe after surgery but gristle or cartilage is not normal. You should discuss the character of the discharge with your surgeon.

Scabs / dry blood: It is not uncommon to have scabs / dry blood inside your nose after intranasal procedures. Speak with your surgeon if you have specific concerns that you feel need to be looked at.

Gristle?: After nasal surgery, there can be bloody discharge, crusts and eschars. Have your surgeon evaluate your nose at the next postop visit. You may require debridement.
