Scab YES: Gristle NO: It is normal to have dried clots and scabs coming from the nsoe after surgery but gristle or cartilage is not normal. You should discuss the character of the discharge with your surgeon.

Gristle?: After nasal surgery, there can be bloody discharge, crusts and eschars. Have your surgeon evaluate your nose at the next postop visit. You may require debridement.
