Yes: Part of the jawbone exists only to hold your teeth in place. If teeth are removed, this alveolar bone resorbs away.

Yes.: Early loss of primary (baby) teeth can inhibit the full development of the jaw bone. Loss of adult teeth results in loss of bone structure in the area.
