Conceptually yes,but: Unlikely. Theoretically if very severe periodontal disease or gingivitis is present, increases in Insulin resistance can occur, but this would be quite unusual'.

Yes: Poor control leads to gingivitis, plaque, tartar, cavities, gum infections, increased tooth loss, need for extractions.

Yes: Diabetics are very sensitive to infection because it makes it very difficult to regulate blood sugar levels. As said, chronic periodontal infections will wreak havoc on blood sugar levels. Diabetics need to pay special attention to oral health to avoid any infection.
