Maybe: By feeling the pulse, it is often possible to determine if the heart is beating regularly or irregularly. The vast majority of sustained, irregular heart beats are caused by atrial fibrillation but this is not always the case and can only be confirmed with an electrocardiogram. If the pulse is regular, many different causes are possible.
