Mid-day: You will get the most vitamin d from the mid-day sun, generally about 10 am-2 pm, but unless you live in the florida, arizona or other very southern areas it is not possible to get enough sun from october to april to get adequate d levels- if the sun is not strong enough to give you a tan it won't produce much d. I advise taking 4000-5000 units a day during fall and winter months.
